several acts, Tribute Bands and live performers, in Second Life, including The Blues Brothers,
Pink Floyd, The Who, The Doors, George Thorogood, Sgt. Pepper's SL Band, The Traveling Wiburys,
ZZ Top, Cher, The Eagles, Paul
McCartney & Wings and
more, with other bands currently in production.
A "tribute band" means that the original recordings are streamed into SL while our actors play the parts. We pride ourselves on our professionalism, and do our best to offer you a realistic concert experience. |

WINGS OVER SL: A Tribute to Paul McCartney & WingsOn March 15, 2009, Wings over SL: A Tribute to Paul McCartney & Wings made their debut at Junkyard Blues Club to a nearly-sim-crashing audience of 98 avatars. The show is performed on an authenticallly recreated stage, including SL versions of the lighting effects of the original RL shows and some things they can't do in RL. The SL Eagles Starring Joe Walsh, Glenn Frey, Timothy B. Schmit, Don Henley and Don Felder, with a special appearance by Linda Ronstadt. This American rock band was first formed in 1970 as the backup band for Linda Ronstadt's "Silk Purse" album. With five Number 1 singles and six Number 1 albums, the Eagles were one of the most successful recording artists of the decade. The band released its first, self-titled album in 1972, following it up over the next 20 years with seven more albums and eight compilations and box sets. The SL Traveling Wilburys Starring George Harrison, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison and Jeff Lynne. In Real Life, these five superstars collaborated on a B-side for the single release of Harrison's "This Is Love", and found they enjoyed working together so much that they decided to create a full album together. The result, Traveling Wilburys Vol.1, was released on October 18, 1988. It was ranked #70 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of 100 Greatest Albums of the 80's and nominated for Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 1990. A second album folllowed in 1990. In Second Life, a performance by the SL Traveling Wilburys features a recreation of this supergroup, and also one or two solos by each member, as time permits. Comfortably Numb SL Band
gave
its debut performance of The Wall in Second Life on April 20,
2008 to a sell-out
crowd, and attendance has since maxed out the sim at every show. See
